Some would consider me a multidisciplinary designer. I just consider myself the most indecisive person you'll ever meet. To my surprise, these two projections fortuitously compliment each other. More so than what you would expect. I embrace duality in almost every vicinity of life, giving ample consideration to both solutions of a problem. While a vacillating persona is usually seen as a nuisance in design, at least in the decision making stage, providing equitable responses to every possibility has allowed me to permeate into different avenues of design. Some of which I’ve enjoyed more than others. What I find in design that keeps my fervency consistently ablaze though is the storytelling aspect of it. I’ve been reading and collecting books ever since I can remember. One of my first memories as a child includes receiving a membership card to my hometown’s public library. The feeling of excitement from that day is too hard to forget. It’s what I turn to whenever I need a dose of inspiration and motivation. Because of this, writing became another activity I took part in greatly in my adolescent years. Early on in middle school I was introduced to Wattpad, an online community where aspiring writers published and read stories in the form of e-books. At the same time I subconsciously began to develop a fascination with the myriad of book covers I saw on the website, curious as to how they were being designed with such high fidelity. At the time I had no idea what the term “design” meant, but I began to practice the discipline through book cover making on the site; the nascent of my design journey. By taking requests from authors online to bring the title of their stories to life, I developed a keen interest for visual storytelling.
